Events & Activities

Q: What is the Farm & Vine Dinner in Friendswood?

A: Farm & Vine is FDFA’s biannual signature outdoor dining experience featuring themed menus, live entertainment, and community gathering under the stars. Tickets are limited and usually sell out quickly. [Join our mailing list to be notified when tickets are released.]

Q: When is the Scarecrow Contest?

A: The contest dates change slightly depending on the year, but in 2025 it runs October 1–November 1, with public voting October 11–26. Businesses, families, and organizations are welcome to enter! Registration is free to the public and is available on our website Scarecrow Contest page. First prize for best scarecrow is $500.

Q: What is Friendswood Mardi Pawz?

A: Our family-friendly pet parade celebrates Mardi Gras with a Friendswood twist. Pets (and owners) are encouraged to dress up, think costumes, beads, and wagging tails!

Q: What happens at the Ice Cream Social?

A: This annual event brings the community together to cool off with sweet treats, games, and music to celebrate the end of summer. The event is sponsored by some of Friendswood's most charitable nonprofits and FDFA is proud to contribute to this worthy event annually.

Q: Where is the LOVE FRIENDSWOOD illuminated artwork located?

A: You’ll find it tucked in the heart of the Downtown District near just to the right of the Friendswood Public Library. It’s the perfect photo spot for locals and visitors alike. A: FDFA commissioned several local and regional artists to create murals that celebrate Friendswood’s history and creativity.

Q: What is the Heroes of Friendswood banner program?

A: This initiative honors our community’s local heroes with banners displayed throughout downtown.
